We are thrilled to announce a 2-day (29-30 May) cataract surgical camp organized by Ramlal Golchha Eye Hospital (RLGEH) Biratnagar, with generous financial support from HCP Cure Blindness.
In 2021, the PKMMH eye unit was upgraded into a surgical eye center with the support of The Fred Hollows Foundation. Since then, it has been hosting monthly surgical events, successfully serving approximately 1,500 patients to date.
RLGEH, now managed by Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, Kathmandu, is providing state-of-the-art eye care services in eastern Nepal. This camp aims to restore the vision of around 150 marginalized people, helping them regain sight and improve their quality of life.
While access is relatively easy in this region, financial constraints and lack of awareness often prevent many from getting the eye treatments they need. This camp is a step towards breaking those barriers and ensuring better eye health for all.
